Recruiter.ai Privacy Policy
Recruiter.ai is a Chrome extension that helps job seekers analyze resume or professional-profile text and compare a locally generated candidate profile with public job postings. This policy describes what information the extension handles, why it handles it, where it is stored, and when information may be sent to third-party services.
Information Recruiter.ai handles
The extension may handle the following information when you choose to provide or access it:
- Resume and professional-profile information. This may include a name, email address, location, employment history, education, certifications, skills, role titles, and other information contained in resume or profile text.
- Visible website content. If you explicitly choose Extract current tab, Recruiter.ai temporarily reads the visible text of the active page so that you can use that text to build a candidate profile.
- Job-search preferences. This can include target role, location or work-mode text, freshness selection, and optional search terms that you enter in the extension.
- Public job-posting information. Recruiter.ai retrieves public job-listing data from supported third-party job sources for matching and display.
How information is used
Information handled by Recruiter.ai is used only for user-facing job-search features, including:
- Parsing resume or profile text.
- Generating a candidate profile.
- Identifying skills, industries, role families, and seniority signals.
- Matching public job postings against the candidate profile.
- Producing match, freshness, missing-keyword, and ghost-job risk indicators.
- Creating user-requested search or review links.
Local storage and retention
The generated candidate profile is stored in Chrome extension local storage using chrome.storage.local so that it can persist between popup sessions. This local data remains on the user's device until the user resets the extension, clears extension storage, removes the extension, or otherwise clears browser data.
Recruiter.ai does not maintain a SALT19 account database for extension users and does not store resume text or candidate profiles on SALT19 servers.
Third-party requests
Recruiter.ai retrieves public job-posting information from supported third-party job APIs over HTTPS. The current implementation requests job data from RemoteOK and Arbeitnow. Resume text and the locally generated candidate profile are not included in those API requests.
If live API results are insufficient, Recruiter.ai can display fallback search links. When you choose to open one of those links, the extension may construct a Google search containing role, skill, location/work-mode, optional search terms, or company-name information. Those search terms are sent to Google only after you choose to open the search and are then governed by Google's own privacy practices.
Current-page extraction
Recruiter.ai does not continuously monitor browsing activity. Access to current-page text occurs only after you invoke the extension and explicitly choose the current-tab extraction feature. The extension uses Chrome's temporary activeTab permission together with the scripting permission for that user-triggered action.
Data sale, advertising, and unrelated use
Recruiter.ai does not sell user data. It does not use resume/profile information for personalized advertising, retargeting, creditworthiness, lending decisions, or purposes unrelated to its disclosed job-search functionality.
Human access and sharing
SALT19 personnel do not receive or review resume text or locally stored candidate profiles through Recruiter.ai because that information is not uploaded to SALT19 servers. Recruiter.ai does not provide that information to data brokers or advertising networks.
Security
Network requests initiated by Recruiter.ai use HTTPS. The extension does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript. Its current host permissions are limited to the public job-data sources required for its matching features.
User control
You control what resume/profile material is supplied to the extension and whether current-page extraction is used. You can clear the locally stored candidate profile with the extension's reset control, by clearing extension storage in Chrome, or by uninstalling the extension.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Recruiter.ai's use and transfer of user data is limited to providing or improving the extension's single disclosed purpose and user-facing job-search features. User data is not used or transferred for personalized advertising, is not sold outside approved use cases, and is not used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Changes to this policy
If Recruiter.ai's data practices materially change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated to reflect those changes.
